The Band
We're a jazz combo rooted in the Great American Songbook, with a deep love for the music of the late 1940s through the 1960s — and a willingness to go anywhere the music takes us, from old-timey swing to modern post-bop and beyond.
The tuba provides the bass lines — a distinctive sound you will want to hear for yourself. Add in trombone and flugelhorn for front-line flexibility, and you get a combo that's compact enough for a corner of a restaurant and full enough to fill a club.
We play standards, songbook classics, some original compositions and arrangements. Whether it's a dinner set, a cocktail hour, a festival stage, or a late-night session, we bring the real thing: improvisation, interaction, and music that makes people lean in and listen.
Performs regularly with Bad News Jazz and for musical theatre. Decades of experience in bands including Villain Vanguard and North St. Collective. Described as "a studio-quality player in several genres."
